Daily Obey

Now that you’ve made the commitment to read God’s word everyday its time to decide to do what it says. Quite often its going to tell us to do or not do things that the rest of the world will completely disagree with. It may even make you a bit upset to live how the Lord is telling you. But His ways are always the best no matter what anyone else thinks. He created us He knows the future and He knows best. James 1:22-25 says But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. 23 For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. 25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. This is what daily life in Christ looks like. Daily obeying what God says to do. DLIC!

Prioritize the Word

One of the first things we need to do is decide that the Bible is Gods Word to us and that and we will choose to read, believe and obey it. Don’t even open it if you have any doubt whether its true. Decide that you will read it and believe it even though there may be things you don’t understand (and there will be things you don’t understand). The Bible is a book that you will need to read the rest of your life and you will continue to gain wisdom every time you open its pages. One way to live your daily life in Christ is to read the Bible daily. Some days it may be a verse, some days a chapter or more. Let the Lord lead you. There are devotionals you can get that have a certain verse or verses you read every day and an explanation of that text. Those can really help to get in a habit of reading the Word. I recommend getting a devotional if you don’t know where to start. I have used devotionals tons of times myself. Some days you may not be able to get in the Word and God is certainly not mad at you. But strive to make the Word your priority daily and your life will change for the better. DLIC!

DLIC ?

It all begins with an idea.

The name of this ministry is DLIC Daily Life in Christ. What does that mean to you? I’ll tell you what it means to me in a series of blog posts. I don’t think that can be answered in a few sentences. But I’ll start with the fact that in order to live your daily life in Christ you first have to be in Christ. What does that mean? Well the Bible says in Romans 10:9-10 NLT If you openly declare that Jesus is Lor and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. When we do that we are declaring that we now do life in Christ, for Christ, and by Christ and we begin to change into the person God made us to be. II Corinthians 5:17 Therefore id anyone is in Christ the new creation has come; The old is gone, the new is here.

This is the beginning of living in Christ although many treat it as if its the end. We don’t “get saved” to go on and just do whatever we want. If you are already in Christ and reading this it will be old hat to you. But hang on we will continue to go deeper into this subject each blog post (hopefully each week). My plan is to give you tools to help you live your best life in Christ everyday. DLIC!
